Do you know what the normal rates solicitors charges for dealing with probate on a will.

The will is uncontested, should be a straightforward process

There used to be as far as i can recall a set fee based on value of the estate. Its best to seek a figure before starting and check with other solicitors to ensure it is reasonable.

If its a straight forward estate you could try doing it yourself, I did probate last year myself and it was relatively easy and the people in the probate office were very helpful.

Also any questions that I had in relation to the forms I was able to ask on this site and got some great advice. So it might be worth a go if its not a complicated estate and save a few quid.
