Hi I have been off work for two years and my illness benefit ended recently. I have applied for Invalidity but no word yet. In the meantime my only income is a small pension from a previous job. I pay no PRSI on it but my employer does. Will that count towards my credits or do I still have to send in certs? Thanks for any guidance.

You need to establish what prsi class you are on ..

Are you getting over €38 a week on the pension?

Have you looked at the payslip.. does it indicate prsi class? Eg would be a0, a1, j, m??

What age are you?

Thanks for the reply Mary. I get 45 euro a week and its Class A0. I am 62.

As it’s A prsi you should be entitled but they look back to a different year to access it..

They will figure it out.
