I was in my local Halifax branch today regarding my deposit a/c. They told me that it was guaranteed up to 100k like all the other banks but what exactly are they not participating in under the government scheme and per their two page ads in the papers.
Irish government are offering a blanket guarantee of all deposits, with no upper limit. They're not participating in this, hence the €100,000 upper limit.
