Has anyone signed up to Skype or has anyone any views on it.
I downloaded it recently then got a call from someone I did'nt know just to chat so I became suspicous (maybe wrongly)
All information appriecated
 
There was a couple of threads on it a while back (before Christmas) that you may want to look up, probably in the Phones or IT forums.

theres not much discussion here (on AAM) on it but theres a much bigger discussion on it on over on boards.ie (search for skype), theres also good discussion on the skype forum on the skype.com website.

If you get a call from someone it probably means you have the "skype me" box ticked which means youre inviting someone to ring you. Turn it off and this will stop. Theres nothing sinister there.

If youre interested in VOIP, I use (and have paid for usage) babble which is the alternative to skype. 1c a min to anywhere in the world where theres a babble server (most of the main countries) and 15c a min to any mobile in any of the countries.
