Signing and completion

Hi

I'd like to know how long (on average) the gap is between formally signing a contract for sale for an AH and actual completion.

Thanks

I wish I knew the answer to your question, I'm waiting so impatiently! Have been waiting about 5 weeks now since I signed.

Sorry this might sound like a stupid question, but i thought that once you signed for the property you got your keys straight away? i am wrong? and if so are you paying Mortgage for it? one last question what is holding it up?

Also Pinkstars, what development are you buying in that you are waiting so long after signing? Or do you mean you signed a form accepting a provisional offer from the council rather than signing and closing on a property?

Waiting on councils solicitors and my own solicitors. Paperwork etc. Should have keys this week. Its a long process!

So you had to wait 5 weeks after signing for it, that's not on. Were you paying your Mortgage for those 5 weeks?

Hi my boyfriend got his apt this time last year... from what i remember He accepted early june and was in by early sept......... other friends had similar experiences waiting 2/3 months from the time of accepting,He did 2 snags and fingal were trying to sort out his finances, everyone has different complications to sort..... the waiting can be frustrating, but the worst is over by then because you have accepted and its only a matter of time,he was worried about needing to give his landlord a months notice before moving,it worked out in the end, when you do get to go and do the snag, bring your camera and measuring tape to get lots of snaps of the place so you can start designing it while your waiting!...

I have been waiting 8 months to move into my AH place and there is still no sign of moving in. I would advise people to avoid the docklands where possible. great location but your dealing with a bunch of idiots down there.

hi, pinkstars is same as me! i have signed contracts etc about 4 weeks ago at this stage and i have the cheque ready to go! all we have been told from what i can gather is the councils solicitors are the delay! i was the same tho i thought once u sign u get the keys, but u collect keys from council and have to go to thier office to collect them! u dont pay the mortgage until cheque issued but for some reason, its not being issued until closing date and the council give u that! i was told 30th may but havent heard a peep from them this week and 30th is in three days!! :( its a long waitin game!
