Shed door - Is planning needed to add a pedestrian door to a shed.

Wicket door into existing shed door or additional entrance door, necessitating removal of part of wall?

Will the door open fully into your own property (i.e., not onto a public road, footbpath, etc..) Is the shed fully behind the back wall of the house? Less than 25sqm? If so most likely exempted development.

Hi.
The shed has planning permission but the architect never included a pedestrian door. It would open onto my property and not visible from outside the property

Generally planning is required to create a new entrance. You could submit a Section 5 declaration from your LA that the proposed works are exempt. That will give you certainly and protection for when you go to sell or in case some planner in the future takes a different view.

I'm a wee bit late to the party but as the shed isn't a habitable structure then the addition of a door wouldn't require planning permission based on the info stated above. However as pointed out by Leo it might do no harm to get a Section 5 Declaration just to future proof the change.
