Hey, Myself and my husband are in the process of seperating. We have 2 children and a house with a mortage of €1180 per month. I work 3 days and earn gross 465.00. Can anyone tell me what am i entitled to claim. Will i be entitled to any payment towards the mortage. I really dont want to fall behind in my repayments.
I cannot find much information on the net regarding any of my questions.

Hope someone can help it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks :)

Is your husband still in the house? While he is still there, his wages will be assessed against any claim that you may be able to make.

Once you have actually separated (department may want to see some evidence that the separation is likely to be long term) then you would be entitled to a small Jobseekers Allowance claim (would be seriously reduced because of your income), on those figures you would be entitled to the minimum payment of 20 euro a week.

As you are earning more than 425 gross per week then you would not be entitled to any One Parent Family Payment.

On those figures, you would not be entitled to any mortgage supplement, as because of your earnings any supplement would be reduced by 292 a week (which is more than your mortgage repayments).

Here's the links to the Department's website on

and

You would be as well also to contact OPEN (One Parent Exchange Network) who are a network of organisations across the country who provide information and assistance to lone parents. http://www.oneparent.ie/
