I have advertised my old car for sale on CBG and Buy and Sell. I have just received an email from a guy in NOrway saying he wants to buy it and do a quick sale! Its an old car (96 Megane) and to be honest, the asking price of 2000 was being very optimistic, but he is willing to pay up front (on production of a lot more photos giving more detailed pictures). Just wondering what would ye think on the 'soundness' of this deal; is there some massive international car bying scam that I am not aware of? To protect myself I have asked that he pay up front and also pay by PAYPAL as I think this gives me the best security (I think I am right in saying that once i see the money in my paypal account I am safe and sound). Alternatively, I think asking him to transfer direct to my bank account using the IBAN number would also protect me in this siuation.
BAscally, I am alittle nervous cos after all, why is someone in Norway looking to buy a 96 Megane in Ireland, and is here any obvious way that I haven't seen here that could I could be scammed out of money and car!!
