I have been offered a 2 bed apartment in this development by Fingal County Council and recently heard that it will be intergrated (affordable and social) Im a bit wary now as i feel my apartment may be difficult to sell in years to come now. Anyone out there in the same boat as me with this development? Any views on the development?

I'm familiar with the area. Access is through the Moyclare Estate from the Baldoyle Road. Traffic can be an issue if the gates for the railway crossing are down.

Property in the estate of Moyclare (an old council estate) was in great demand 3/4 years ago but it has fallen off. It's very close to Bayside DART station as well so an ideal location for commuting imho.

Perhaps someone else would be able to advise on the social/affordable element.

Iv also been offered a 2 bed house from Fingal co co. Im very interested in the area but do agree there are many social houses there. However the clawback is quite low at present therefore we should not have a problem in that area when we do decide to sell on he property.

Iv been told there seems to be a hold up with the land registry of these houses. Have you heard anything about this?

If anyone else has any informaton on these houses or area it would be very much appreciated.

Oh my God, DO NOT touch these! You enter the estate through a green and some graffiti covered walls with hoodies and young lads on bikes whizzing around. At least three of the houses are already boarded up and most look right out over the school playground so all you get in the mornings and afternoons is loads of kids racing around the place, not to mention a school is your only view! Several of the 2 bedroom houses on the way in were offered to people on the social housing list but they were all turned down(!!) and so they are all empty, except for one with FOUR boarded up windows and squatters living in it. Place looks like it'll be a ghetto in a few years. I certainly wouldn't feel safe around there at night. I've been through there a few times because it's right beside the dart (VERY handy for the dart) and the place is a dump. Plus, the price Fingal are asking is laughable.

I would think VERY carefully before committing to one of those houses unless you are really desperate for somewhere to live.

Got a letter from Fingal today about a viewing of the 2 bed detached houses for 150k in School Lane . Kind of knew the area , back of Moyclare Estate , popped up this evening for a look. OMG they will never sell them - view from ur front wondow is a 10 foot brick wall, your back garden is literally the school yard & entrance to the knacker-drinking park is at end of the lane. Local hooligans obviously having great fun smashing the windows, a few houses still boarded up .
Do they think because were going for Affordable Housing we'll settle for the ghetto , weird little houses with the Living room & kitchen upstairs !! Think i'll be holding out ....

I got that letter too and was wondering what they were like, I won't even bother viewing now. That seems to be all that's left on the affordable list from what i can tell.
