Saving and tax benefits

Hello,

Are there any saving options (in banks or post office etc.) where you get tax benefits on your salary when you save? Apologies if ye think its a stupid question!

I don't believe so. The only tax relief you can get is if you contribute to a pension. There are some DIRT-free accounts (An Post for e.g.), but that's it as far as I know.

Only other efficient method of savings I can think of is a Save As You Earn scheme (if your employer operates one). See here.
