Bit irrelevant now but possibly useful to know for next year.
I booked mid January to Orlando, smart fare x 2, 3 weeks ago with Aer Lingus. €400+ cheaper on Black Friday.

When there are sufficient seats remaining, yes. The model is all about maximising the revenue per flight.
