RTE Prime Time Thursday 22nd on problems for overseas investors

RTE doesn't have the resources to fight avoidable legal battles, so unfortunately it sometimes has to accept defeat at the first sign of major trouble.

i think most people would prefer to see them spend their money on something like this that is of genuine public interest rather than you're a star etc.

Couldn't disagree with you more Riviera.

IMHO the future is very bleak. I would advise my family / friends against investing in overseas property for the next 3 – 5 years. [/quot

There are dozens are markets to make money in around the world in property, the problem is that novice investors on the back of a gold rush in ireland went out and gave money to hack agents and hack developers, and neither one nor the other new anything about the business really. Peripheral hear-say is about the expertise of half these agents - thus the reason thousands are going out of business in spain and elsewhere and only the strong and knowledgble are surviving (Riviera - profits have fell theres no doubt about that).
Smart investors will make money, the buy based on facts and not to be sold based on opinion

Im thinking it was a particular agent that put the pressure on, and while Im actually happy he did and a load of bad press doesnt come out (as it hurts my own interests), at the same time I dont like this company at all and its a great shame that hacks like him can determine what the media will say.

Folks

I have had to delete a load of posts which are defamatory by inference.

If any of you have proof of what you are inferring, go print out a leaflet and distribute it publicly or ask a journalist to publish it. But don't go putting the future of Askaboutmoney at stake by discussing it here.

Anyway, as the thread has gone way off topic, I am closing it.
