I find it incredible that having your lights on during the day in Ireland isn't mandatory. It is just about everywhere else in Europe. It's a little thing that saves lives and should be written into law IMHO.
They're called sidelights.... " parking lights " are called that for a reason!!
...I have a Renault & if I turn on my lights during the day, the backlight on my dash goes dim & I cannot see my speed, petrol gauge, time etc. Obviously my speedometer is the most critical. I reckon this makes it dangerous for me to drive with my lights on during the day unless the day is quite dark. Does anyone know is there a way to alter the light on the dashboard for a day/night setting? Don't have a manual!!
They tried to introduce this a few years ago, and people were complaining that it was yet another example of the Nanny state!
Where will it all end? Next thing you know they'll be telling us we have to have a driving licence, and pay road tax, and insurance, and wear a seat belt. That's all very fine for that crowd up in Dublin, but we don't need all that stuff down here.
Haminka......I reckon Slkash was being tongue in cheek!!
Since Wollram told me how change the backlight, I've been motoring with my lights on!!
