Rovers V Real Madrid

As far as i know Platinium one paid for everything and in return they got the ticket money. The guy from platinum one on the radio said this and that it was more an attempt to build the reputation of the company than to make a huge amount of money.

+1 - I heard the same/a similar piece

In addition, Platinum One picked up the tab for the trip from the time they left Madrid to the time they returned. Madrid were keen on a Northern Europe venue as it affords more time to train. The day they left Madrid, the temperature was 38 degrees.

I saw a few clips on the news. I think it was very shortsighted of the rovers player(s) to basically hack Ronaldo down from a tackle from behind. He basically kicked him.

This is Real and they are not going to take well to having their best players potentially injured in pre season.

Expect that to be the last big name club that goes to rovers for a pre season game.

The news highlights were out of context. We watched the whole match and it was not a dirty match. The tackle, while a foul, did not result in Ronaldo doing his usual over acting routine. He was on his feet again almost immediately. Rovers did the League proud, not even playing their strongest team as they
have a big match with Bohs to come. The ground looked great too. Positive all
round.
