Rose cuttings - over wintering

Any gardening gurus here?

I have a batch of rose cuttings, which have rooted nicely in a large pot outdoors.

So far as I can read up on it, the advice seems to be to plant them into the garden in the Spring.

My question is what to do over the winter? Do they stay outside? Will the frost be a problem (keeping in mind they are in a large pot)?

My garden expertise amounts to cutting grass, so module 101 on Roses please.

I took a lot of rose cuttings last October and left them outside over the Winter. About 75% of them survived the cold.

If frost comes I would put the pot in a shed until the frost is gone and then put the pot back outside.
