And Im a reds fan too

Nice to see a fellow eircom League supporter on the site for a change even if your allegiance is my club's current arch rivals.

I won't link to it but I found the 'babes' section a lot more interesting than Wayne Rooney!

ehhh I'm Wayne Rooney.... I a sexy B&*tard.. I wanna eat your baby....

Sorry change that to 5 Kebabs, 2 snack boxes, 3 chickens and 4 mcDonalds Big mac meals...

:rollin

Clubman, dont forget your old mate LA. We have one thing in common....we don't want want Roddy's Rowdy Rovers (and they are rovers) as bed mates. Gypsies would be better behaved :lol

No - but we are in no position to cut off our nose to spite our face by turning down c. €60K p.a. in rent from them.

Clubman does that €60k include reparing the damage they will do to Dalyer and to the surrounding houses and businesses and also the extra expense of having a greater Garda presence when the RRR/s are in the Boro

No - once the proper indemnification is in place the FAI will be paying for that when it happens. (No joke!).

C/M, I find it hard to believe that the FAI are going to bail out the RRR's on this issue. If that was a provincial team like Limerick , Kilkenny etc. would the same be done? How did R's get their licence if they were not able to fulfill all the required criteria, without FAI help ?

I'm talking specifically about the FAI indemnifying Bohs against any damage caused by Rovers while they are tenants in Dalymount. The same applied when they were in most of their various other "home" grounds over the years including, as far as I know, Dalymount in the 80s when they wrecked the place causing a few grand's worth of improvements. I'm not talking about them being bailed out in relation to Tallaght. As far as I know nothing will happen there until the lease is released by the private developer(s) back to the club or the local authority. If you believe what you read in the papers they will then get €5M from public money to complete the project. I prefer not to believe stuff like that though. :)

C/M, I know what you were saying , but I find it hard to believe that the FAI would bail out RRR's if damage was done to a stadium. would they pay compo for any fan who was injured as a result of the bad behaviour of the RRR's ?

As far as I know the FAI have always indemnified the host club to some extent when Rovers are tenants of their ground. Not sure if anything has ever been paid out under such arrangements. I don't know if Bohs were ever paid by Rovers or the FAI for all the seats broken over the last few seasons even I myself have repaired many of them... :\

dalyer

You should stop fixing them so we can get back to the good old days. Is that you up the back?

Re: dalyer

Clubman, I cannot understand how the FAI can bail out a team who sold their ground, and have been living like kn**k*rs for the last seventeen seasons or so, and yet they were prepared to let Drogheda Utd go to the wall two seasons ago without any backup from them, eventhough they (the FAI ) partly own United Park. Where are the equalities ?

Re: dalyer

I agree. But I presume you're familiar with the hoary old cliche in domestic football "the league needs a strong Rovers team blah blah blah..."!? :\

bail out

I used to buy the fifa "world football annual" in early 80s. the only LOI team was always Shamrock Rovers, famous for the amount of times theyd played in europe (For an irish team). My dad was never able to explain why limerick united werent in it.

Ah, the markets field...memories. finucane, storan, gary humes, duggan, joe o'mahony etal. Went to dublin to watch them play Lawrie Cunningham (rip) and real madrid in the EC in landsdowne, jonny walsh got the goal in a 2-1 loss , twas never the same again. Despite being LU fan, favorite player has to have been jackie jameson(rip), shame about the injuries, met him years later, one of lifes true gentlemen.
Roy Keane has it right, quote " Id like to manage but cant see myself ever managing Ireland, at least not under the present FAI".

Re: bail out

We used to play Subbuteo with Manchester City away strip and Celtic playing as Bohs and Rovers respectively. Unfotunated Subbuteo didn't make little hooligan figures in those days, or since unless I'm mistaken. Ahhh.... Subutteo - the sport of Kings! :)

Re: bail out

C/M those were the days. Hours upon hours of endless fun. In my village we had a Subbuteo league and we played home and away in each others house. this would last from Sept to March then we would have the cup which was on a knockout basis and the final would be in the house with the most room for the spectators ( 20-30 ) on cup final day. It was a brilliant way to bond with each others families. Everyone gained from it :)
