return of deposit for flat rental: solicitors letter?

Jaysus Finny !! If you think there's any justice in this world, then you're very very naieve !!

As it happens, I agree with the posters who say you're not entitled to a penny back. If you had have gone out and found a replacement tenant, then you might have a moral case.
 
Did you expect a pro-rata return of the deposit? Is that done? I think it is all or nothing.
