rescinding a letter of resignation?

Many thanks for all the support and advice. I met with HR on Tuesday and they are happy for me to stay on. They are putting in supports such as a mentor and weekly meetings with my line manager to address any issues that I may have difficulty with. They have said that my workload was too much and are looking at ways to address this. They are encouraging me to remain at my current grade and are hopeful with supports that I will be able to manage. I'm going to see how it goes for the time being :) Thanks again
 
Edit - I see Already resolved. for anyone else in a similar future position, no HR dept or occupational health advisors will accept a resignation while on stress leave. It’s clearly not valid and amounts to dismissal.

As OP has found they won’t suggest down grade etc either as if you accepted and then quit it would be constructive dismissal.
