Hello, I currently pay rent to my parents, can I claim this back on my tax, I know that there is a rent relief scheme with a cap of €1,650 per year at a rate of 20% relief. But it does not say if you can claim if there are connected parties. can you please advise, also will this income affect my parents income tax because I'm claiming tax relief?
 
they were not going to but the form that I have to submit request that I give the revenue their PPS number. But I did see that there is a rent room allowance of up to €7,620 that they can claim, so I think that they should be okay with regard to them owing the revenue any tax, am I correct, and can I claim the money I give them?
