Removing grout from tile surface

I've just noticed that brown tiles behind a shelf (that's normally very cluttered) in my utility room have grout on them. I reckon that whatever tiler did the job didn't clean them off properly after grouting them and it dried onto them. I tried wetting one earlier and scrubbed it with a fairly useless scrubbing brush with little success.
Is there a proper way of removing the grout?

Ps. It's not part of the design of the tiles. All the other ones on view are as they should be.

Are the tiles smooth? If so, you could use a hob scraper...carefully!

There's a grout remover on the market which is great, the brand is 'HG', I've used it before.

You'd get it in Atlantic

Although it is a few years since I've bought it

Thanks Leo. No, the tiles are rough so a bit of rough brushing etc. wouldn't do too much damage, I reckon. Thanks also MonkeyFeet. I'll have a look for that in Atlantic H.C. If it's no longer available, they might have something similar.

HG are one of the top brands in this area. Test out in an inconspicuous area first though, these cleaners are acid based.
