Reigniting Pilot Light on Gas Boiler

This may sound like a stupid post but I have a healthy respect for gas and want to be sure how to proceed.

- The pilot light seems have gone off in our gas boiler. Are there any reasons why this might happen? It was only serviced last week.

- In terms of relighting it. It seems fairly straightforward but it says to ensure the electricity supply to the bolier must be turned off.

- How would I ensure that it is turned off? Would there be a fairly obvious switch beside the bolier or should I disconnect all the electricity to the house from the main fuseboard?

As you can see, I've no idea how these things work so would appreciate the advice.

You are right to show respect to gas.

As the system was only serviced last week and I'm sure you paid good money for this it might be a good idea to call your service engineer and seek their advice. Better to be safe than sorry.
