Real Time Tax Credit Relief change at end of December

I just submitted some medical bills and claimed medical relief in revenue my account.
There was a warning which unfortunately I ignored related to my employer not having a payslip issued between now and year end.

My question is, how will I receive this relief? Will it be deducted in first payslip next year or would it be a bank transfer from revenue?

I’ve been reminding Mrs S to upload her 2024 medical receipts and today might be the day….

As of tomorrow, 2024 will be the previous tax year so the refund will be issued as a bank transfer.

Reliefs for the current tax year 2025 would be added as tax credits in your payslip.

But can the refund be issued immediately?

It 'should' normally be issued immediately. I have been told there is always a load of tax returns (Statements of Liability) done on MyAccount just after midnight on new year's day.
