I got made redundent in 2008 and could only claim the dole for 9 months then my allowence ran out due to savings.Have had another job since last December but that looks like it is going to end soon, have been paying all of the normal deductions.Am I allowed to resubmit an unemployment benefit claim again ? And if so what would it amount to I am married and have one dependent child wife doesn't work.

Here's what SW says:-

Requalification for JB

If your full Jobseeker's Benefit entitlement has expired, you may requalify for Jobseeker's Benefit when you have paid 13 contributions at the appropriate class after the date of expiry of 156 days of JB. You must also meet all other statutory conditions, including that of a substantial loss of employment prior to making a new claim. If you worked continuously three days a week prior to expiry of their Jobseeker's Benefit claim/entitlement and continue on the same pattern, there would be no substantial loss of employment.

If you had a job from December until now and you lose at least one day's employment, then you will meet the substantial loss of employment criteria and re-qualify for JB.

If your total stamps over your working life are still below 260 then you'll get it for another 9 months, if your stamps in the new job have brought you to over 260, then you'll get it for 12 months.
