Am building a new house and was looking for an in-frame cream kitchen. Got a few quotes and the difference is unbelievable. Came across a website from a kitchen company in kilcock and gave them a ring. I got a quote and it was 2k less than my best quote and €8600 less than the dearest. Got granite priced seperate and the same story, can antone tell me how these companys are still in business?

just remember you have to compare like with like, what type of carcass, hinges, drawers, how much solid timber is used etc.some in frame kitchens can be up to 100,000 euros believe it or not.

Was like for like. I was able to tell them excatlly what i was looking for. I feel people should shop around espically when it comes to Kitchens as there seems to be no set price.

Hi Jameson
I would like to get details of that site. My daughter is building a house and the electrician was telling her she needs to decide on a layout for her kitchen. Hope to hear back.
Veronica
ps. Have they got a showroom?

Could you pm me the name of the site as well please Jameson

The site is orourkekitchens.com. Myself & my wife made an appointment for 8pm on a monday eve as we work in the city. Make sure to get good directions as they are a couple of miles from the town. They have a lovely showroom and are nice lads to deal with.

orourkekitchens.com. nice lads to deal with. They gave us the drawings to take away. the other companys wanted to charge us,

They may be lovely, but someone ought to tell them that a wine rack should not go above a fridge/freezer.

Where do you get that from?? just flicking through "Irish Kitchens" a magazine i got in the shop and this is a common practice.

If you are anyway handy, consider a flatpack kitchen from B&Q, I just did a utility room with reasonable quality units for €700, one full Saturday and a couple of evenings assembly and fitting, Easy and very clear instructions, It was a doddle.

Admittedly this was a single run of fairly standard 3 metre base units, doors , sink, wall unit and standard worktop, (also includes pelmets and kickboards), So a full kitchen of higher quality would cost more and take longer, but its an indication of what is possible

I would not have considerd doing a full kitchen but after my experience with the utility I would consider it now.

I am in no way connected with B&Q.

wine .... heat from fridge/freezer ..... affecting the temperature of the wines in question?
Exactly, and affecting the quality since wines should generally be stored at cool and pretty much constant temperature.

It may seem visually appealing (although that's pretty subjective), but makes for lousy wine storage.

You should also try Brendan Gallagher kitchens in Laraghcon in Lucan, they are a factory operation with tiny showrooms so no added expense paying them for that facility. I got kitchen from the 3/4 years ago, they were excellent from measuring to fitting, have since had to go back to get some minor pieces like a new kickboard to replace a water damaged one, they replaced it FOC.....3 years later......thats what I call good customer service!!

No connection to them just happy chappy customer!
