Does anyone know of any banks or brokers that can provide a speedy remortgage. I'm looking to release some equity from my house, but so far everyone I've been to has given me an indication of 6-8 weeks to complete.. surely there is a faster way.. I need the cash NOW
A turnaround time of 6 - 8 weeks is reasonable. It can be done more quickly IF all of the following apply: -
your provide the bank or broker with ALL requested documentation, without omission.
your solicitor is in a position to request the loan cheque the same day s/he receives the formal loan offer - you'd need to check with your solicitor if this is feasible for your house.
as an alternative to using a solicitor, some lenders will accept title insurance, which can often be fast.
there's no delay in obtaining life assurance cover to suit the new mortgage, due to doctor's reports etc.
I'm finding Ulster Bank and Bank of Scotland quite slow at present, but the rest are turning things around quite quickly.
