Hi

I would be interested in hearing any opinions from anyone who sat the QFA Financial Planning Exam last weekend.

Sorry this is not going to be much help to you! I was just wondering what you thought of it. I have done 3 Modules and am wondering whats in store in the last 3. Did Life assurance last weekend and found it ok.

I found it difficult enough, but I didn't really know what to expect. As you probably know, it is a written exam so it's much different to all the others. All of my tutorials were cancelled and there is only 1 sample paper in the manual, so this may be why I found it difficult. People who were able to attend tutorials were probably more prepared and had a better understanding of what was expected of them.

I have sat Life & Pensions combined as part of the old course and Investments, Loans & Financial Planning as part of the new course (and due to sit Regulation Saturday week). I found all of the exams fine, with the exception of Financial Planning, while I think it's fair to say the new course is more difficult it is certainely do-able.

Did they cancel your tutorials? That doesnt seem very fair. I would expect the financial planning one to be alot more difficult so i think the tutorials would be very important. Do you not have to do all five before you do financial planning?

That's what I thought too. I think they were cancelled because there wasn't enough people sitting the exam in the mid-west, AFAIK they only actually went ahead in Cork & Dublin. I think you just have to be enrolled to sit any remaining exams in the same term as Financial Planning - at least that's what I done anyway.
