There is government help for closed pubs. If it's closed more than 2 years it can be changed to residential use without the need for planning.

In terms of viability as a pub. The market has changed. We visit people's houses more, we drink less and our lives are simply too busy.

My local rural pub opens Wednesday to Sunday 6pm - midnight and she eeks a hard earned living from it.

Hi all are there any grants or other funding available when renting a public house for the first time? The pub has been closed a while. Any info regarding cheap insurance etc would be greatly appreciated!
