PTSB App and Site issues

There are also other free offers:
After several decades with PTSB I'm somehow still on a maintenance fee free current account (and not yet in my "golden years" :D) and am generally happy with their service notwithstanding outages such as today's.

EBS Money Manager is a FREE Current Account option and yes very basic no cheque book,overdraft and no app.

With the exception of the ridiculous messing when one wishes to close an "online" savings account, so am I.

App not working again today. After the login process I get this:

Webpage not available

The webpage at http://m.permanenttsb.ie/ could not be loaded because:

net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED
Edit: oh - it let me in after a few tries.

It's not working for me today. I am so fed up of the new PTSB 'Altogether More Human' experience. It's just getting less human. I was in a branch two weeks ago. An elderly man ahead of me wanted to apply for an overdraft. The staff member directed him to the app. He said he did not have the app and could he do it there, in person. Instead, they explained how to download it. They went out of their way not to help him in branch. How more non human can they be.

Got a notification from PTSB today - App users have to update the app from the Play Store in order to install some mandatory certificate.
This is probably the cause of the odd behaviour of the app reported by users this week. Basically, whatever changes they have made requires the app to be updated.

I know this is genuine, but it could look suspect to some.

There is urgency
The user will be faced with more hassle if they dont do this
The app owner doesnt usually do this
There was no priir comms, whereas PTSB usually are better than this

All red flags.. But to reitterate, it is a genuine update.
