Does anyone have experience of buying a house in the UK? I was wondering is it very similar to here, i.e. surveyors, snags, conveyancing (could have spelt that wrong) etc. Also do they have any similar to stamp duty or is it just concil taxes and any scheme similar to rent-a-room? I want a holiday home as much as anything but also planning to live in England for a year or so, so I will want it for that too, Any help really would be greatly appreciated
