Problem with washing machine - drum not spinning

I had a call out recently who replaced a broken belt for €100 including VAT. Dublin

I wouldn’t call this expensive but if it goes again I will get a new machine.

The chances of a fault that prevents the drum from spinning would also result in a program being activated, skipping the obvious fill stage, over-ride the door latch safety, and start the drum spinning at such a speed that the OP would be unable to remove their arm without sustaining injury is pretty much zero.

That would require a remarkable confluence of issues and faults, along with a significantly over-powered motor.
