Probate Approved and sale of house complete - when do I receive the funds

Hi .. I am due to get inheritance from my father.. he had land, shares and a house - all have been sold and both the money for the land and shares are in the solicitors acc.. the house sale will complete next week.. how long from receipt of all the funds should I get the money from the solicitor?

Depends on how complicated the estate is, what other bequests there are, what other claims against or debts on the estate. Your best bet is just to ask the estate solicitor how soon he expects to be able to make payment.

Assuming the Tax Clearance cert has also been gotten from Revenue by the Solicitor (takes 4 to 6 weeks in my experience) then it should be very quickly once all the funds have been gathered in and cleared.
