Maybe a bill pay rather than pay as you go contract would offer direct debit as a payment option?Would anyone have any suggestions for how I can get around this??

Thanks everyone for the replies. I went with Sky in the end - so thanks for that Suzie. This way the club bank account could be used rather than someone using their own personal bank account and claiming it back every month.TCL 501 32GB 4G SIM Free Smartphone - Prime Black - BuyItDirect.ie

€ 63.97 new, from €45.97 to €52.97 pre-loved. No experience with either the phone or the supplier, but cheap, there's even a re-furbished version for a little less than retail price.
No matter what the price, why can't a sports club member pay for the phone and have the hon. treas, or hon. sec. refund them out of club funds? The top up as required can be done with cash and get a receipt. Or as you have a club bank account, maybe try getting a club debit card or cheque-book.
