Predictions

When all is said and done, there is always much more said than done. A fool can see that it will be FF & FG with some Independents and a rotating Ff/FG Taoiseach. Labour already see what already happened to them previously and to the Greens presently.

don't know what all the shenanigans about teaming up with the Labour Party is all about, maybe they afraid some of independents won't just be about their own constituencies anymore but be looking for changes in national policies. We all know that some of the rural independents were diametrically opposed to the green party policies and might be looking for a reversal on some of the last couple of carbon taxes.
Also ivana bacik talking out of both sides of her mouth, on the one hand she is ruling out going into government with ff and fg, on the other side of her mouth she is saying that a government propped up by independents would be a disaster in her world view

Got my first Crimble card this morning - from An Post.
I estimate that that little PR exercise cost about 2 bicycle sheds.

From Leo's link above; "The electoral register is not a single, unified database, according to Mr O'Leary. It is in fact 31 separate registers run by each local authority independently from one another."
I'd say that also costs vastly more than a few bicycle sheds. How many people are there doing the same job in 31 local authorities when the same job could be done better and more accurately by a single body? How many other examples like that are littered through the entire State sector?

What do the SD mean by "fully implementing Sláintecare"?

Does (5) mean that many/all existing workers in childcare will be offered contracts as public servants, and the State will take over providing the creche?

Where are they going to get the people to build the homes?
Where are they going to get the people to build the childcare facilities? Where are they going to get the people to staff the childcare facilities?

How are they going to fully implement Sláintecare when the healthcare unions won't let that happen?

Are they planning on taking on the Framers in order to meet our climate targets? Because they are the problem.

More pipe-dream soft-socialist wishful thinking immature nonsense from well meaning idiots.

Q2 - I suspect they want the State to acquire existing childcare facilities, maybe? And for the existing staff to become public servant childcare staff?

Q3 - I'm not clear on which healthcare union resists Sláintecare - I would like to know more.

More State employees... just what we need.

Unions resist all change that would cause their members to be made redundant, change their work practices or change their role. That's the function of a Union; to get as much money possible for the least amount of work possible. If they are doing otherwise they are not doing their job.

One SD TD said 50k affordable houses per year on television, another TD on a different show said 50k over the life of the Govt.
If they change the planning and building regulations to facilitate the supply of high quality factory built homes then they could do that quite easily but that would require Public Servants in the Department of the Environment to do their job so it's unlikely to happen.

Most of them are just happy to be there.

Shane Ross’s memoir of his time as a cabinet minister 2016-2020 is unintentionally revealing in this regard.

He dreamed of being at cabinet table his whole adult life, loved the status and trappings when he got there, but had absolutely no idea what to do.
