Health Insurance Potential issue when moving from a global ins policy to VHI

My family and I have been insured under a BUPA global corporate health insurance plan for 5 or 6 years in my previous employment. I have sinced moved roles and the policy offered here is the more standard VHI co plan.

Looking at the T&Cs (page 2 joining us)it seems to suggest that as my previous insurance isnt registered under the health insurance acts (i think its just the ones that operate in the irish market) that we would be subject to a 5 year waiting period for something that could be classed as a pre existing condition.

I'd guess that you are. Those registered under the Health Insurance Acts are here:

There might be special terms and condition negotiated between your employer and VHI. We for example moved back to Ireland from abroad started a new job here. Employer had an agreement with Laya that all waiting periods are waived.

Doesn't have to be the case here, but worth checking.
