Positive Ventilation System

We have a lot of mould and condensation in our house.

Got a quote for a Positive Ventilation System . Basically ventilation system which moves air around. It Seems expensive at 2.5k. Say he give 5 year guarantee. Just want to get rid of problem long term!

Anyone have a successful long term outcome using this system.

I don't know is the answer but if that is the system that puts vents in ceilings of a few rooms and pushes down air I had that once for first line of radon mitigation (it didn't work well enough and had to come out and sump fitted). Anyways can't even remember cost as they allowed it against the full job when it didn't work. However I would say be very careful where you site them, the bedroom one used to drive me mad blowing air that I could feel on my face when in bed, added to that the constant hum of the fan in the attic also irritated me. I was never so glad something didn't work right and have to come out!

I agree a fine big dehumidifier would be a good start. Is the problem in every room or just some, bought one recently for my daughter where she has a problem in one end of the house and it has almost instantly stopped the returning mould patch on the bedroom and bathroom walls. Worth a try, I paid I think 220 for Meaco brand which was recommended to me, got a 10l but it comes in 20l too.
 
We installed them last as part of an overall retrofit as we had a major issue in one of the bathrooms and I have to say they work a treat. There is a little noise but you get used to them. Cost (down the country) was €1850 for a 4 bed semi

First off, that seems quite a high price for PIV to put it mildly.
Also, cMEV is far superior at extracting moisture safely than PIV. (PIV actively pumps moisture laden warm air through a progressively colder structure and therefore significantly increases the risk of interstitial condensation within the structure ... never a good idea in my book.
Dehumidification is not a long term solution.

Have a 20l Meaco Arête One bought from CH Marine in Cork, had a seemingly known PCB problem with it after about 15 months. Fair play to CH, I packaged it up and dropped it off at post office for free return, had it back and working good as new within about 10 days. Better than previous experience with cheap Electriq one!

Advise keeping packaging, just in case.
