Hi,
Can somebody give me a rough cost on plastering internal walls and ceiling in one room in a house. Room size is 8.5 ft width x 15ft long. Average height room.

Thanks

Had a similar size room done, 4 walls/ceiling had it completed in one day by two guys and labour cost was €500 plus materials. You should pick someone recommended. We had it done a few years back having responded to a flyer and it was a terrible job.

Hi Iggy, How much was materials or did that include materials. What is the breakdown of material costs?

I got 8 walls plastered and 2 ceilings plastered for €300, he got it all done in a day (8.00am to 15.30pm).

I supplied materials.

The cheapest quote before that was €900 and was told no way a man could get it all done in a day.

If you want his details PM me.

I'm going to ask him as soon as I can if he minds me putting his details up on the net.

Edit:-materials 1 bag of skim coat every 3 plasterboard

I used 4 bags of skim coat

I've got a plasterer working at the moment. One room (11' X 11') has one wall to be insulated and then the whole room to be skimmed. Old artexed ceiling has to be bonded and skimmed. Four single plugs to be replaced with doubles (concrete wall to be routed out for two of them). Downstairs two angles and a fireplace that was badly plastered by the previous owner has got to be reskimmed. And our gateway pillars (46" high and 11" each side) have got to have expanding metal sheeting drilled onto them, plastic corner things and plaster. Total cost including materials 910 euros. He started today and says he will be finished on Thursday evening. He has done work for us over the past three years and I trust his judgement and expertise.

Are you sure you got the right figures SLF? 3 sheets of plasterboards is only 11.5m2 and 4 bags would give you 46m2, im sure your area would be a lot more than that!!

Just to update. I ended up paying €320 labour and €170 materials.

My plasterer is a very good guy and he judges these things the way he knows best 1 bag of skim = 3 plasterboards.

Thanks Leo
