Hello All,
I'm meeting someone from Bank of Ireland next week with the view of setting up a pension. Does anyone have an opinion of how they compare with other pension providers?
Penny

Be aware that Bank of Ireland will only offer you the products of Bank of Ireland Life. They will not offer you any other pension company.

Read up on some of the Key Posts and ask the bank for a clear explanation of what charges will be deducted from your pension contributions (both from each contribution and from the fund each year). Post the charges back here before you commit to anything.

Hi,
I met the bank about their pension plan and they charge 5% per transaction and 1% per annum, how does that sound?
Thanks,Penny

It sounds like the maximum possible under a standard PRSA. You can get better than that (e.g. 0% on each contribution and 1% annual management fee) by, for example, going to a discount execution only broker. See the "cheapest PRSA" key thread in the Financial Best Buys forum (may also be linked from the key posts in this forum too).
