Hi,
My multinational employer has stated on my recent bonus allocation form that any pension contribution from my semi-annual bonus payment is deemed an Employer Contribution.

Does anyone know if this is legitimate?
Is it the same across other multinationals out there?

thx,
BP

You effectively sacrificed your bonus in return for the company paying these funds to your pension fund. Was there a reason for this? Had you already used up your pension contribution allowances for the year? Important to check if you have vested rights to this money, i.e. automatic if you have been in the scheme over 2 years. Also, these funds with not be ARFable at retirement as they are not recognised as an AVC.
