My daughter is starting out with her own car insurance. She wants to build up an NCB. She hasn't passed her test yet so I accompany her. One of the insurance companies wanted me as named driver on her insurance so it will make it cheaper. My question is will I be liable for any extra insurance costs (re recouping expenses paid out by the company in the event of an accident)? My daughter just has her job and is not a homeowner as I am. She will only get third party fire and theft.

Thank you for your reply, that puts my mind at ease, I just didn't understand why it would be a reduced premium I thought there had to be some catch.

As long as the car belongs to your daughter, and not you, theres no problem with that
