Hi .. I am using outlook express to get my e-mails , my problem that i check my e-mails from 2 different computers and each of them download my e-mails on the hard disk of each machine ,so i have some e-mails in the inbox of my home computer and others in the inbox of my office desktop . Is there any setting in outlook to keep emails on the server so i have all in one inbox regardless from where i am checking in my e-mails ?

That's very interesting - I've just discovered that my O.E. emails are left on the server for 14 days. Didn't know I'd ticked that box! But I have a Q if I may. How does one access emails left on the server? If it isn't too complicated or too late, I'd be interested to know. That Google link was great only I didn't come across Eliza - don't need to unless it answers my question.

Access them with the e-mail program on your other computer.

Have you tried using web mail, if you have an eircom email address, log onto www.eircom.net type in your user name and password and you can check all your mail from either computer? My outlook express has crashed but thankfully I can access all my mail wherever I am through their web mail service.

Mozilla Thunderbird is better, it has security features and anti-spam features not in Microsoft's Outlook Express.

I tried Thunderbird with the Hotmail webmail plugin to access my Hotmail a while back and found the whole thing so confusing that I reverted to Outlook Express which did the job much more simply. Maybe I'll try Thunderbird again some time and see if things have improved.

I leave my emails on the server until they are deleted by me. Allows me to look up an old email on the web even if I'm not near my computer.
