What specific question do you have or what issues are of concern to you?
Looking to reveiw cash deposits as terms coming to end. Idealy looking to find a home for them to gain an annual net return of 3%. Whether it be in Etfs shares or property. Open to hear peoples opinions as have my own idea's but would like fresh eyes and outlook. As one can get stuck in their opinions.
Thanks in advance

Firstly, sorry for your loss.

You’re saving 5k from about a 45k annual income, so costs are about 40k - does that include supporting one or both of your kids?

If it doesn’t and 40k will be your long-term cost profile, I would suggest more of your portfolio should be invested in equities generally, although if it were me I would gradually increase it rather than move a massive chunk all at once. You have fixed-ish income of about 12k widows pension, 10k rental income, and 3k DB in the future so you can afford to take on more risk with your other assets. But like I said, maybe you don’t need to if the kids are due to start paying their own way in the near future.

Have you made sure your PRSI contributions are up to date - perhaps there are homemaker credits to claim?

I would speak to a good financial advisor about putting it all in stocks - perhaps look for a portion of it in dividend returning stocks where you get a cash payout each year. Or, you could arrange for a yearly small sell off of your stocks - if you took out even 2.5% each year you'd get 10k (you may have to pay tax on that). That would supplement your income and in good years you might not even sell anything.

I also wonder if as you get older you might want to get rid of the rental property and again put it into stocks.

An arrangement where you meet your financial advisor once a year, pay him or her say 250 for the consultation and make decisions from that might be useful?

I would also sell the crypto
