One Parent Family Allowance (OPF). Home Visit: Do they poke around house etc?

I am in the unfortunate position of having had to apply for OPF Allowance and have been told there will be someone calling out to my home to discuss it which is fine.

What sort of questions are you asked?

Do they just come out to poke around the house to make sure there is no guy here?

It would make me feel very uncomfortable to think there is a stranger in my house who could just wander around and go through drawers or do they do that?

Will they have ID?
 
Yes, they will have ID, no, they don't "poke around in drawers". The visit is to confirm your address & check that what you've stated on the form is accurate. If you have nothing to hide, then there's nothing to be concerned about, it's a standard part of the application process.
 
Thanks gipiman, iv nothing to hide at all, im not the tidiest person and was just concerned about having a stranger here when the babies are here. Thanks again - have to say, I was hoping it was you who would reply as you seem to be the most knowledgible! Many thanks!
