Offsetting CGT - what is allowed

Hi all,
I have CGT losses on stocks. Can these be offset against rental income from an investment property? Or, can these losses be offset against income from people living in your own house, while renting (beyond the allowance of the rent a room scheme)? Or, if not, can these be offset against gains from the sale of an investment property?

Capital losses can only be offset against capital gains so losses on stocks can be offset against gains from property disposals

Taxes on capital disposals are completely independent from taxes on income and can never be offset either way
