Nokia PC Suite has stopped working

When I try to connect my Nokia N70 to the PC suite, I get the following error message:

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

No solution appears

This only happens when I connect the phone to the cable. If I open up PC Suite without having the phone connected it does not crash.

My OS is Vista Home Premium

Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Did it ever work?
If so what changed in the meantime?
Have you tried reinstalling it (having first backed up and created a System Restore checkpoint)?

Yes it worked when I first installed it in September. Haven't used it for a few months now, in which time I have installed numerous Windows Updates. Could these have affected it?

I'll attempt to uninstall & reinstall it to see if that helps.

Backup first. I have no idea if an uninstall will remove any data stored locally. On the other hand if everything you need is on the phone then this may not matter. Maybe remove the existing version, download the latest version from the Nokia website and install that and see what happens.

Went to uninstall from the control panel. There was a Repair option as well as uninstall, so I ran this. Also updated to the most recent version.

Don't know if it was the Repair, or the update, but all is working fine now.
