Have checked out a few garages for my preferred 1.8 TDCi Zetec.
As per earlier post, garage 1 is offering me the 2007 with 10000 miles for 28,500 euro. Its a saloon though and I would prefer a hatcback. So that 4k off the retail price of a new one for a 1 year old car.
Garage 2 currently have the same model, but a H/B which is a 08 demo but won't be able to sell until April. They will take a deposit form and hold it until then for 30k (which is 3k off new price). They will offer finance on this for €600 pm (over 5 years) which is marginally cheaper than the AIB loan I was quoted.
Garage 2 will also sell me a brand new one for €630 pm finance. I didn't want a brand new one but with Finance this is only working out €1,800 more expensive over 5 years, which seems to be a good deal, considering the loan I had planned to get with AIB for 30k is only 28 per month cheaper!).
What do people think of these options? I can stretch to 630 per month - thats not a problem, but just wondering what people's views are on the actual value of each option?
There will be surprisingly little in the difference in resale values between the brands. VW's supposed edge is a myth, as is there reliability. Toyota's are tinny and relatively poor to drive.
All cars depreciate. This class and size particularly.
rs2k u havnt a clue mate
how much do u think a ford focus retail €24000 would sell for after 4 years ?? 2 of my friends sold 2 within 4 months of each other , one got €9750 and other €10150
now i sold my golf €23800 new 2004 sold it 2 weeks ago for €15350
so ur trying to say that vw dont hold value ???
built like tanks aswell , if i was unfortunate to have a crash , id rather vw or audi than a ford to be honest
im guessing by the name ur an rs cosworth fan ?? or im wrong
