Surely bracing or discreet props could have been used to mitigate that tiny risk

Think I saw a picture this morning suggesting it had been propped for some time? ESB charging them €54k to move a cable followed by DCC charging €61.5k to close the affected footpath and parking spaces to allow the work didn't help.

Lansdowne House itself looks like a rotten 1960s era office building but would probably cost the OPW the same as the new Children's Hospital to replace.

Everyone who can do so gets their snout in the trough. And nobody is held accountable for signing off on the rising bill.

And what do the bodies named so far in this thread have in common? OPW, ESB, DCC, Dept of Finance. They have all become expert at spending other people's money extravagantly.

I had the opportunity today to view the wall outside the WRC that cost half a million.

The bike shed outside Leinster House was a steal by comparison.

You would think the bike shed fiasco would have been a wake up call, if not for the procurement dept SVP /leader but to their bosses to have them removed from sign off but sadly business as usual (or not as it may be).

It's time those responsible are are made accountable.
