My Simply Connect Plus policy is up for renewal at the end of this month. Plan D will cost €120 more, has a €125 outpatient excess, and appears to cover only €20 of the cost of an xray. But there are no excesses on hospital stays or day case treatment, a higher day to day/outpatient limit, plus possible saving on house insurance.Plan D seems way too cheap compared to the other insurers high end plans - I am looking for the catch!
Me and my husband are on Laya Inspire Plus. Haven't got renewal premium yet but will be switching to Plan C too.My Simply Connect Plus policy is up for renewal at the end of this month. I will have to sit down and compare the two carefully, using the past year's claims as a reference point. I'd already ruled out Simplicity as not saving me any money.
However, my husband is on Laya Inspire Plus - renewal quote €1633 - and unless I'm mistaken Levelhealth Plan C will be a no brainer for him.
All the information you need is available here:What is day to day cover under Plan C ?
Thank you so much ClubMan.
To be fair, the day to day option covers more that just GP visits.Adding Everday Expenses adds €190 approx, per adult, for Plans B & C, its unavailable on Plan A, and non optionally included on Plan D.
If you are not a regular visitor to the doctor, most people would probably choose not to pay in advance, for something they may never use, bar perhaps annual checkups.

I had a callback this afternoon - I had a few queries about Plan D cover which were answered pretty comprehensively by a very helpful person.
One thing she confirmed for me was that all XRays, and any scans not done in an approved centre, only qualify for a €20 refund. I've done my sums now and Simply Connect Plus comes out marginally ahead for my usage. This is due to Level Health's higher plan cost, €125 excess on outpatient cover, and lower radiology fees.
I was tempted but I don't think I'll be moving this year.

I agree - I think this is where the plans are lighter.Looking at Plan C and D; I think the Day-to-Day benefits aren't great at all. I am on Excel Care with Laya and Day-to-Day is a good bit better.
