I have replaced a dimmer switch in my house and the new switch results in a the light being very dimly light when turned on. The switch has three ports at the back, L1, L2 and ~. I have it wired as follows: live wire to ~, wire to light in L2. Note that when I connect the wires directly and not using the switch, the light lights fully. Note that it is a dual switch (two knobs for two different lights, the other ports are wired the same as above, with the two ~ ports connected to each other).
Any ideas?
