Hi all,
I am considering moving to Nenagh to take up a new job. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the town. Whats it like, good pubs, places to eat go out, Sports clubs etc. Most importantly any ideas on where to rent a place and how much as i can find very little information on internet.
thanks

Breda Deane auctioneers in Nenagh has the best rental properties.

Those properties (on the breda deane website) seem very cheap to me! Having said that, I know nothing about the area, and that might have some impact. Still, Coille Bheithe 2-bed apartments, Borrisokane 2-bed apartments and (particularly) The Wesley 3-bed townhouse (at 170k) look good. Does anybody know enough about this part of the world to advise on whether these prices are as good value as they seem?? Interested in terms of investment.

From close to Nenagh and have rented in Nenagh so I know what I'm talking about.
Main bogey estate is St.Joseph's Park, avoid at all cost. Cormack Drive in Gortlandtroe also is in this category.

Great tennis club on Limerick Rd, great rugby club off Thurles Rd, two good soccer teams and a fine GAA team (Eire Og).

Best leisure center is Trinity at the Abbey Court Hotel(I worked there for 3 years). Also recommend Glebe Lane gym for fantastic staff.

To eat out: Restaurant at Abbey Court Hotel. Peppermills on Kenyon St is the main place in town. Most people in Nenagh will recomend this place.Good Indian on Kickam Street.
Chineese? Place on Dublin Rd and the Jade Court. Avoid the place on Kenyon St. It's been shut down twice by the Health & Safety Authority.

I rented in Ormond Keep. Its on O'Rehilly Rd behind Nenagh Library. It was great and very quiet.

Pubs: Rockys, Slatterys, Kenyon, Maximus. You're perfect night out.

Property wise, I have seen 3 bed semidetached go for €190,000. You might not get this anymore but maybe €220000?

Looking through the Breda Deane, I reitarite, avoid Cormack Drive.Annbrook Heights is ok. Working class estate of Nenagh, full of solid, decent people. Ballygraigue is ok, its out by the hospital. Sarsfield St is often called Pound St due to a large Pound there years ago. OK, I guess and in right in the centre.

Bear in mind, Nenagh isn't a big town

Any more questions, pm me.

just to take issue with what you said about saint josephs park whats so bogey about the estate the people are the salt of the earth in there you wouldn't meet more solid people around here i do however agree that cormack drive is a bogey estate with a lot of drugs going on

on the chinese restaurant the one on dublin road is also crap its been closed down before also. for me the jade court is the best.

rockys is a pretty ok pub but dont touch the guinness

Slatterys is ok but no atmosphere

kenyon full of teenagers but ok

maximus is the only nightclub you can go to and the age group is also for teenagers

dowlings is good for music and beer

macmahúnas is also a good night out

philly ryans is also very good and a great atmoshpere

una powells is the best pub along with paddy rohans if you like a good chat and great guinness

as for property breda deane would offer the best that i know about with a courteous service and as far as i know you can get a 4 bed semi detached in millersbrook for €193000

hawthorns for about €180000
