You can ask but they don't have to tell you anything. We are nearly certain they are renting it out but are we entitled to ask them this?
No.if they are renting it out are they obliged to give us their contact details?
.......they saw us coming, got into their cars and reversed at speed out of the driveway and could have killed us. I was very shaken, not even an apology, more of a sneer.........going by their rough and ignorant attitude they will probably have anyone in the place. They shoveled a load of muck into their neighbours garden to clear their own dry muck and when it was said to them they basically laughed. ........
Er - what exactly has this got to do with your original query? My sister moved to a new development last year and one of the houses was rented out to a gang of immigrants (there was about 13 of them in a 3 bed semi!) and what they did during their time there was unreal. I saw it with my own eyes. Horrible and inhuman. Gardai couldn't do anything, it went on for 7 months!.

The impression I get from this post is that you are judging all immigrants based on the experience that your sister had. Is that really what you are saying?! If this is that case then yes, there is a problem with “giving an example of what really can happen” because it’s xenophobic and/or racist. It's the reason I am so worried, I don't want what happened to her to happen to me!. Other than that, nothing really wrong with giving an example of what really can happen is there???..
I've seen myself and it's not for the faint-hearted!- funny stuff with farm animals?
i agree.....looks to me that you are better off having someone else living there (albeit renters!) ...it might be a blessing in disguise!

.....nobody to annoy me apart from a couple of pot bellied pigs !
Hi all,
we recently moved into a new development of only 64 houses, it's really nice. A few of us on our road are worried about one house that looks like it's going to be rented out plus their attitude while sorting out the place has been horrendous. For instance, I was walking along with my 2 year old in her bike, pushing her along with the handle and they saw us coming, got into their cars and reversed at speed out of the driveway and could have killed us. I was very shaken, not even an apology, more of a sneer. We are afraid that they will rent this out to undesirables, while we have no problems with rented house, we rented before we moved, going by their rough and ignorant attitude they will probably have anyone in the place. They shoveled a load of muck into their neighbours garden to clear their own dry muck and when it was said to them they basically laughed. We are nearly certain they are renting it out but are we entitled to ask them this?. We would need their contact details should there be any problems. If we are wrong we probably are going to have problems with them, they caused parking problems already and each driveway can take 3 cars, it's just arrogance.
I don't know if it's the right forum I am in for this, but we need to know can we approach them and if they are renting it out are they obliged to give us their contact details?.
I get really offended by the attitude of some of the posters on this thread.
I AM an immigrant and I AM a renter. My landlady loves me because the apartment is spotless, I get on with my neighbours and have never caused any trouble. A lot of renters are like this. People don't rent so they can wreck somebody else's house and annoy other residents but because they need a place to live.
One of the problems in this country is superiority of some Irish who look down on anyone who is not. I am sure a few Irish have emmigrated over the centuries.
Please note that some posters have already challenged others in regard to comments about "immigrants" which seem to be total non sequiturs and irrelevant in this thread (and others).I get really offended by the attitude of some of the posters on this thread.
